The formative years are critical in a child’s life; a period of rapid cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. There is no other stage in a child’s life when they will develop so quickly. Therefore, the foundations laid in these years have a marked impact on a child’s academic and personal success in the next stage of their education. The quality of education, pastoral care, extra-curricular opportunities and experiences at school shape a child’s future. So why wait until partway through your child’s education before providing the best?
Small class sizes, specialist teaching, early exposure to foreign languages, forest school, exciting and innovative Future Ready curriculum, 50 extracurricular clubs across the week, personal attention, wrap-around care for busy parents and so much more. Investing in your child’s education is most definitely worth it, from the very beginning!
We would love the opportunity to show you the strong start we can offer your child at The Royal Prep School.
We look forward to hearing from you.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to one of our Open Events
Our curriculum is designed to ignite, enthuse and empower pupils to bring the very best out in themselves.
Children are taught in fluid, differentiated groups, depending on the subject and the progress of individuals within the class. Throughout the academic year, a number of educational trips and visiting speakers enrich the curriculum and extend learning.
Our Future Ready Programme provides opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum to develop future skills. The programme is tailored to every year group and starts in Reception and covers the following topics:
Teach Computer Science, Drama, Forest School, French, Music and Sport, providing the children with expert subject knowledge and igniting a passion from a very early age. This is balanced with a close pastoral connection with the Class Teacher who tailors lessons to meet the needs of all individuals in the class.
Beyond the classroom, our most able children benefit from a mastery enrichment programme across academic, sports and creative disciplines. Many of these pupils go on to be awarded scholarships at senior school. All our children take part in enrichment events, such as STEM Day and Arts Week, residential trips, night camps and hearing visiting speakers.
A wide range of clubs are on offer at lunch times, before and after school. Encouraged to try new experiences without the pressure of a ‘hot-house’ approach; this is often where our children find their lifelong passions. Our thriving music community provides many opportunities for performance, from intimate recitals to large-scale productions in our Senior School theatre.
Happy children make for high achievers and confident learners. Collaboration within our Royal House System embeds team spirit, yielding high self-esteem and a sense of fun. Our children embrace a healthy sense of competition within a culture of kindness.
