The world has changed significantly in the last quarter of a century, whilst the curriculum at GCSE and A Levels has not changed much. In a world where AI is significantly prominent, it is more important than ever to ensure we nurture those skills that make us uniquely human. Our Sixth Form Future Ready Programme positively responds to these challenges; it provides opportunities beyond the traditional curriculum for students to develop future skills and help them become intellectually, practically, and emotionally ready.
At RSF, we have an exemplary track record for supporting our students in whichever academic direction they choose. The Royal School maintained its track record of entry into Russell Group Universities in 2022. Pupils cited the high-quality online provision, the flexi boarding with extra academic support in the run-up to exams and the consistent, individualised care from teachers as reasons for their success.
We would love the opportunity to discuss your child’s future at The Royal School.
We look forward to hearing from you.

The majority of Sixth Form students will study three subjects at A Level. In addition, students take the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), being taught the necessary skills during the Lower Sixth year. The EPQ is taught through lessons, lectures, debates and tutor/student-led discussions. As such, it prepares students for the different teaching styles adopted by tutors at higher education colleges and universities.
The pastoral care for every Sixth Former offers personalised advice both for students’ academic and pastoral growth. The Tutors adopt a holistic approach to ensure each student’s all-round progress. Both in-house and external talks focus on handling the pressures surrounding drugs, alcohol and screen dependency. A very successful Safe Drive Stay Alive programme, as well as discussion groups that focus on managing money at university, provides students with the chance to focus on issues acutely related to their stage of growth.
The different courses Royal students go on to read at University reflect a school culture that celebrates individuality and diversity. This year, courses range from traditional academic degrees such as History and English to highly specialist degrees such as Software Engineering and Medical Sciences to vocational degrees like Journalism & Communications. The Royal School has maintained its track record of entry into Russell Group Universities.
